It's been more than a decade since this game was released. This game along with two of it's predecessors (and few other games) became the most iconic game in Playstation 1 history.Though Resident Evil 3:Nemesis was released on other platform outside Playstation (Dreamcast,GameCube and even PC). The plot tell us about the outstanding effort of Jill Valentine who try to escape the Racoon City which fully populated with the T-Virus containee (s) and turn all the citizens into a mind-less zombie (the zombie attack the people and also cause them to turn into another undead). The Population begin to decreased dramatically because of this 'Cannibalic Desesase'.Jill try to escape, but it would not be that easy as the 'Pursuer' (Nemesis) also haunt her in every single place she step into. For me,Resident Evil 3 is the most horrofic game in my life other than that little damn Fatal Frame series. However,as the time passed by.the gamers begin to lost their 'identity' as the game also begin to dissappear.Playstation.dissapear.But now,we find the way to play it again! Upon running the image of Resident Evil 3 Nemesis, it gets to the screen that says 'this game contains scenes of graphic violence yada yada yada' the the game just stays there and does nothing. Now, i read somewhere that the image i have could be copyright protected and wont run. Is there any way to run this in PSX? The game runs fine on ePSXe, but i just dont like ePSXe. I would rather run the game in PSX. Is there a plugin that i can install to get around this, or anything else i can do?
Thanks in advance! The (Europe)/(EU)/(E) versions of this game are copy protected (via Libcrypt), either patch it up or sbi it or just use the (USA)/(US)/(U) version instead that does not have copy protection at all, the same applies to Dino Crisis (E), Soul Reaver (E) will let you play so far then just freeze up, other games prevent progress in other ways a lot more sly some even tell you in-game that you are playing a pirated game. D-Tools only fixed games for the older version of ePSXe like version 1.6.0 and older due to the emulator not reading CDDA tracks from file as of 1.7.0 that was fixed and that does nothing for LibCrypt protection PSX may need the disc image mounted though, I would not know I never bothered with it ePSXe 1.9.0 started cracking copy protection without the need for sbi files or patching Last edited by Zorlon; 13th-January-2017 at 04:06. I am having a really hard time getting retroarch to run my PlayStation 1 games. Resident evil 3 wont run in the PSX emulator. And i absolutely hate ePSXe.
I have downloaded the PlayStation core through the online updater, it downloaded mednafenpsxlibretro.dll, i have put my ps1 bios files in the system folder, I read somewhere the retroarch is picky on which bios it uses. I have scph1001.bin, scph5500.bin and i changed the names of a scph5000 to scph5501 and some other to a scph5502 (i read somewhere that someone tried that and it worked for therm). If it is a problem with the name change, tell me. I have to create a.cue file for resident evil 3, ill do that later. I'm trying to get retroarch to run resident evil 2 which i have a.bin and a.cue file for. I have linked the directories for the system folder which has my bios in.
I have scanned the folders the my ps1 games are in, retroarch found resident evil 2, which is the only game i have a.cue file for, that's probably why it didn't find resident evil 3(dosnt have a.cue file). When i try to run resident evil 2, i click 'load core' and i select the mednafenpsxlibretro.dll and i go over the the controller icon and i click resident evil 2 and click play. It brings up the emulator screen and then it does absolutely nothing, just shows a black screen. I am out if ideas to get this to work. Anybody have any suggestions as to what i need to do or is there something I'm missing? I'm going to delete my retro arch instalation and re-extract it, I would like to start over to try the new suggestions that i hope i will get.
Thanks in advance!
Well, I tried it in both ePSXe 1.7.0 and 1.5.2, and it does not freeze during the opening or go to a black screen after the opening movie or title screen, and I can start a new game in both. I'm using Pete's OpenGL2 2.9 driver.
I have two Nvidia 8800GT 512MB graphics cards. There are numerous graphics glitches (mostly images remaining on the screen from previous scenes) and the controls of the Resident Evil games are horrible (seriously, pressing Left on the analog should move my character left, not just rotate them in a circle).

Testing out this game has reminded me of why I hate the RE games. I'm sure the glitches could be solved by some tweaking of the plugins, or by even trying Pete's D3D drivers. Click to expand.I am using the ePSXe 1.7 and the video plugin I'm using right now is: Pete's DX6 Driver 1.77 I'm going to switch the Video to the other ones and see how that works out right now. But in the meantime, can you tell me what website did you get that Pete's OpenGL 2.9 driver plugin? And what are the minimum requirements to run PSX games anyway?
I want to use it on my laptop which is: Toshiba 1.86GHz, 2GB RAM, 55 GB HDD, and some generic video and sound card. It ran the SNES, NDS, and N64 perfectly and runs smooth, but there's little static on the sounds. Other games sounds worst. I've looked around for the sound problem but it seems a lot of people have the same problem and it can't be fixed. Post Merge: time/time Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.77.
Also the emulator is on my Desktop which is a Sony 2.3 GHz, 512MB RAM, 70+ HDD, Realtek sound card, and an ATi Radeon X1800 I think. I remember I upgraded the video card because I was trying to run Guild Wars, worked perfectly after that but I don't believe the PSX needed that kind of power back then for graphics Post Merge: time/time OK so far I have tried the current video plugins that have been installed which are the: p.e.o.p.s Soft Driver 1.88 Pete's D3D Driver 1.77 Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.77 Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.77 no luck. OK so I've downloaded the Dino Crisis demo and see if its an emulator problem or game problem (reason being for demo was because its insanely quick to download) and sure enough, Dino Crisis ran PERFECT the first time.
Now to be sure that I wasn't just 'lucky', I exited the ePSXe and ran the game 2-3 more times. Works like a charm. The intro was there, got to the main menu screen no problem at all, buttons perfectly work, gameplay is JUST like the PSX and I'm having tons of fun right now So my RE3 download has really got to be corrupted. But thanks for the help guys!
Post Merge: time/time.
